ART THERAPY
Hi guys, so today I’m going to tell a bit about my
experience doing art therapy.
What is art therapy? Art therapy is a therapy which involves
the use of creative and unique technique such as painting, drawing, collage,
colouring or sculpting to help other people express themselves at that
particular time. It is really interesting way for us to get know ourselves
better.
Actually, I have never heard about art therapy before. But then,
I remembered a drama series which they use art therapy to check if that
particular person have a multi-personalities disease or not. In that drama,
they asked that person to draw a tree for several times, and that person
responds with difference type of trees and drawing every time he/she was asked which
showed that he/she had a multi-personalities disease. (the title of the drama
is The Gifted)
Back to
the main point here, last Wednesday, my club had organized a workshop for
students who are having stress. It was
named as SMILE Workshop. It was held in the Envision hall on 19th
December 2018. To be honest, I didn’t really feel like going to the programme,
but since I had a lot of free time so I decided to attend the programme. I felt
so grateful after attending the programme. I meant, I did feel relax and free. It
was like all my stress and problems had fly away with my 4flat pointer.
The first
activity was blowing a balloon. The air that we blew into the balloon was all
of our stress and problems. My balloon was so big (I feel so attacked). And then,
we were asked to release the balloon. This activity, showed us how we managed
our problems and overcome our stress. So what I got from this activity was I need
to control my stress and solve my problems carefully if not I would affect my
daily performance.
The second
activity is WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART. During this activity, we were given a paper
with a big heart on it and were asked to colour it with our feelings. This activity
was interesting because we could see all the participant’s feeling at that
time. (they asked us to explain to them about our feelings) I loved this activity
the most because it made me know how I really felt at that time. Plus, my heart
was so beautiful. Hehe
The last activity was “Let your mind free”. For this activity, they gave us a piece of A4 paper and asked us to write down everything that was in our minds. I had lot of thought and I wrote down every single things. After this activity ended, I felt free because I didn’t have to think about anything not even the small matter.
My conclusion
is, this art therapy is so relaxing and exciting to do. You don’t need to
attend any programme or event to do this thing. You can just do it in your own
room with some relaxing background music. At the end of the therapy, I’m sure
you are going to feel great. That’s all from me today J See you again next time
